So far I think the best professional networking site is LinkedIn. It seems to be a very professional site (unlike facebook) where everyone on there has the same common interest, to get recognized and showcase themselves. Facebook seems more of a social site to stay connected to friends and family whereas LinkedIn is more towards staying connected to other professionals in the same field and even in other fields. Twitter is also another good networking site because it allows us to connect with a lot of people at the same time and in current time. I like how a team page can be updated and seen by everyone following almost instantly. This is useful for giving information about upcoming events, seminars, and things of that sort. I am curious to see how long in the future it will be until every job requires some kind of online portfolio or professional web page.
My favorite part of your post is the discussion on the future and how jobs may actually require some kind of online portfolio or professional web page. I can really visualize this happening at some point in the future. It will be interesting to see the progression of technology when this occurs. I also agree that LinkedIn is the site for pure professional networking not friend or family networking. However, I do see value in Twitter and Facebook for friends and family when they do not have the opportunity to meet face to face in this busy world. However, I also think that we need to include face to face networking in the mix in some way. The personal networking can make the difference because the employer can get to know you, and we have the chance to listen to potential employers.

I completely agree with your thoughts on LinkedIn in connecting with people on a professional level. If I were to be in the market for a job I would be extremely active on LinkedIn to get my name out there. I also think it's always good to have that personal connection with someone too!

I agree with you that the best social media for professional networking is LinkedIn. I like the face that you can connect with so many people with common interests and many of whom you may not have met. I also think that face to face networking is a crucial step that shouldn’t be overlooked whenever an opportunity arises. I think that face to face networking have opportunity to provide stronger relationships that could possibly lead to unique experiences!
I agree with you completely regarding LinkedIn being the best professional network on the internet. LinkedIn allows users to separate their personal lives from their professional lives (unlike Facebook) and develop social networking in a business atmosphere. I was surprised to see how many connections I made on LinkedIn within the first day. I did not realize how popular the website was and the benefits it brings to professionals. I agree and can see businesses requiring links to online profiles like LinkedIn instead of turning in resumes or applications.
