Usually I use many different sites to learn new things. The main ones I like to use though are any scholarly ones that are peer reviewed or have been published in journals. That way, I know that the information is reputable and mostly true. I try to stay away from wikipedia because there is no regulating information through that site. I also try to stay away from personal blogs or magazines because often times, they are biased. I also like to look at the author and see if they are a good source to read from. I wouldn't want to read about baseball strategy from a football coach. I don't follow any specific authors online but I do follow my towns local newspaper online through my facebook. It is a good way for me to keep up with local and foreign current events. The web is bittersweet for me (as it is with all students I assume) because it is easy to get information for school related work. It also helps me when coaching because I often look up videos of new coaching strategies, ideas, conditioning tips, and other aspects of wrestling. It is bad sometimes for me because I can get distracted when I am doing homework and log onto facebook or yahoo news and not focus on working. I think technology and learning has come a long way in the last couple decades. Rather than having to go to libraries and read everything when researching, one can just look it up online in minutes. It can even be done on a smartphone from almost anywhere on the go. There are also so many resources for every topic (for the most part) out there in case one is not useable for some reason. Journal articles are plentiful which makes research not as hard as it probably was years ago.
